Having worked with Eurostar over the last few years, starting with the space efficiency modelling and consolidation of some 40,000 square feet of office space in Kings Cross, we were then asked to get involved with their 15,000 square foot space in Ashford. The brief was to consolidate the entire team from three floors to one, within a tight budget.
Planning of the space was fairly simple, but the success of this project was always about the introduction of more natural light. SKS achieved this by removing the ceilings and exposing the soffits, creating a greater height and more open and airy workspace. Existing furniture was utilised across the space in order to reduce overall costs, however this was carefully selected to work with the scheme as best as possible.
A simple yet effective design, that made the most of natural light. And considering that we continue to work with Eurostar as our client, we guess they are happy with the outcome on all projects we have undertaken for them.
