Serviced Office * SE1
In 2013 Peldon Rose were approached by a lifelong client, Office Space In Town, to design their newly acquired building. The brief was simple, a serviced office that would attract media and creative tenants.
While still working for Peldon Rose, our very own Queen Bee was tasked with this once in a lifetime opportunity. Working closely with the team and the client a unique and ground breaking design was born.
The building known as, @Waterloo, Nokia’s former London HQ, is in an area previously renowned for making gentlemen’s hats, particularly toppers, bowlers and boaters. Glue used in the manufacturing process traditionally contained mercury, which affected the minds of the craftsmen, leading to the phrase ‘mad as a hatter’. The Mad Hatter Hotel nearby is a lasting tribute to this aspect of London’s industrial heritage. The history of the area provided the inspiration for the Lewis Carroll-inspired environment.
Being so close to this project, SKS were in the prefect position to get involved in the launch of this inspirational space. It was a night that will be remembered for a long time. For a behind the scenes view into the event, planned and managed by SKS, view the video in our video section.
